Understand the reward.
Check the real cost.

Look beyond the advertised rate. Compare upfront spending, possible cashback, and the value of a specific points redemption before deciding what makes sense for you.

Compare the complete entered costs

Cashback value calculator.

Use one currency consistently. Enter the eligible spending confirmed by the offer terms. Starting amounts are examples, not retailer offers.

Include comparable quantities and costs in the alternative total. Enter actual applicable tax rather than relying on this calculator to determine it. Zero excludes that cost.

Conditional value: The model assumes cashback is earned, approved, and fully redeemed. It does not check caps, tracking, exclusions, payout thresholds, delays, reversals, or programme fees you have not entered. It does not treat cashback as money available at checkout.

Formula: cashback = eligible spending × rate. Upfront cost = subtotal + shipping + other costs + entered tax. Conditional net cost = upfront cost − estimated cashback.

A specific redemption, not a universal valuation

What are those points worth here?

Compare a redemption with the cash price of the same item or benefit. Use one currency for the cash price and all cash charges.

Formula: (comparable cash price − required cash charges) ÷ points required. No value is assigned to alternative redemptions, expired points, flexibility, or costs incurred earning the points. A negative value is displayed rather than hidden.

Three different promises

Know what you are earning.

Cashback

A potential cash reward under the programme’s conditions. Approval and payout may happen after the purchase.

Points

A programme-specific balance whose usefulness depends on available redemptions, restrictions, and how you choose to use it.

Store credit

A benefit restricted to a retailer or platform. It is not necessarily interchangeable with cash or an immediate price reduction.

Before chasing the bonus

Check the conditions that change the outcome.

A useful reward starts with a purchase you actually want. Extra spending to unlock a benefit belongs in the comparison.

Common shopping reward questions.

Does a higher reward rate mean a better purchase?

No. A higher starting price or added costs can outweigh the reward. Compare similar purchases and confirm whether the reward is usable for your needs.

Is a point always worth the same amount?

No. Redemption options and conditions differ. The calculator values only the specific cash-price comparison you enter.

Can cashback disappear after a return?

Programme terms may reverse or reduce rewards after cancellations, returns, or other disqualifying events. Check the relevant offer and account rules.

Should I buy more to reach a reward threshold?

Compare the additional spending with the benefit and consider whether you actually need the extra purchase. A threshold does not make unnecessary spending a saving.

Are there live deals or retailer partnerships here?

No. ShoppingRewards.org is an independent educational resource. It does not verify offers, endorse programmes, issue rewards, or represent participating retailers.

Are my entries stored?

The supplied tools run in temporary page memory. No accounts, analytics, cookies, saved history, or submissions are included. Reloading clears entries. Hosting providers may keep access logs; external sites have their own privacy practices.
